3 Match catchup

Thursday was the first evening match of the year at Acorn, 10 fishing so Zoe put 10 good pegs in, I wanted any peg except 7, I said!!🤦, first in the bag I was, and out comes 7🤣😂. Weather was wet so cameras stayed in the van, I caught short on 6mm hard pellets also had a few in the left hand margin, think I finished about 4th on the night, 90lb won, I weigh about 60lb.

Then Saturday was the penultimate round of the spring league at Acorn again. I was on B section (15 to 26) this week and I drew peg 26, I wasn't happy with the draw. Recent form suggested the top weights in my section would be 15/17 area. I started short, no fish! my peg was very exposed to the wind and I found it hard to present properly even on my short line, things weren't looking good☹. Went across had a couple of small fish, however the wind was strengthening and I knew it wasn't right. Out came the method rod and I went across with this, I caught on it for most of the match, not frantic but steady. I was beating all those around me, until in the last 2 hours peg 24 went in his edge and it was solid. I quickly tried to follow suit but indications were minimal and I just couldn't catch any. My 83lb was only good enough for 4th in section and any chance of a league framing spot is now gone☹.

Then Sunday saw me at Landsend, on Tony's float only league, again I said anywhere will do me but not specimen pool please. I need to keep my mouth shut because you guessed it specimen peg 29 it was😂😂🤣🤦.

I had mixed reviews on the peg when speaking to people about it, so wast sure how it would fish? I started at 14.5m, just short of the island slapping a 6mm pellet, hooked 2 straight away and lost them both?? Was it going to be one of those days?

I was soon hooking some and landing them and after 2hrs I had 80lb on the clicker (one was a big 19lb hippo). This line was getting harder and harder decided to rest it. Went down the middle on expander over micros for 45mins whilst still pinging across. I had 2 roach this line wasn't happening, back over slapping. All I could manage was one 5lber. I decided to have a look on my short meat line, I had put a very small amount of meat on it 20mins ago, I really needed there to be fish on it🤞. I had one first put then another straight after😊😊😊, I stayed here for the rest of the match and finished with 129lb 1oz lake and section win🎉🎉. Rumour was that might win the whole day across the 3 lakes, however it was in fact 3rd with some great weights on match pool😊👍. I'm not out on the bank for a while now☹, work and life getting in the way ☹☹☹, tight lines everyone😊
