The Sedges James Cooper Open 02/07/22

Managed to get booked on a match on the lovely Tile lake at Sedges, this match had a £35 entry fee but good payout for framing places😊, so imagine how happy I was when I drew peg21😊😊😊😊😊.

Started slapping and pinging 6mms, after 30mins no signs or indications and I felt like perhaps shallow wasn't right????

A switch to the feeder tight to the island and I quickly hooked 2 and lost them both in a snag🤦. I eventually started to winkle a few out and I seemed to be ahead of most the people I could see. I kept pinging on the 16m line but stayed on the tip as it was too good. Then the wheels fell off, I lost 4 feeders all broke above the feeder shortly after hooking fish???? Some thing in the swim I assume? This upset my rhythm a little and forced me onto a heavier feeder (ran out of 20g feeders). Maybe coincidence but I stopped catching. In fact I never had a fish for the last 1hr 45🤯. Tried over my 16m line and also a short meat line but could only foul hook and lose a few skimmers☹☹☹.

I finished up with 88lb 4oz which was only hood enough for 5th, did pick up a section default so not a total disaster👍
