Acorn for the 2nd time this week😊

17 anglers turned up for the Tuesday open this week, I managed to avoid peg 22 again and found myself on peg3. This peg has been kind to me in the past and I usually do OK off it 🙂.

I started by dobbing maggot, this tactic had served me well yesterday, but today it was clear something was different, 3 foul hookers all lost in the first 30mins☹☹☹.

It took nearly 50mins to get my first small carp in the bag, it came when I switched to the bread.

I stuck at the dobbing for a couple of hours, it was hit and miss with plenty of liners and minimal proper bites.

I had a line at the bottom of the far slope, fed with 1mm micros dropped on this and had 3 Skimmers and a small Tench, before it died.

I also had a line topkit and 2, to my left I fed this all day with maggot by hand. I occasionally tried it, had a couple of skimmers and roach from it, but it never really happened.

With an hr to go I started to ping maggots across and this seemed to spark a little run of carp which boosted me to 44lb 4oz and saw me finish first out the money....4th🤦🤦. Fishery is fishing well at the moment and Paul Faiers put another 30lb of silvers in his next, top angling👍
