Feels like a long time since I was able to fish a Tuesday match at Acorn, probably actualy only a few weeks🤣😂. 21 anglers turned up which is a nice number on a 40peg lake.
I managed to draw one of only about 4 pegs I didn't wantðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ peg29.
I started short to my left feeding 6mm hard pellets, marginal slopes are very close on this peg. I had a couple of skimmers and a small carp.
Started to ping pellets across close to the far bank, again the slopes were steep and close to the far bank, I was planning on perhaps fishing shallow there later?
Fed some micros on a 2 foot plato that I had found across to my left. This produced a nice carp and a run of stockies and skimmers. Loads of liners and indications.
Mugged a big carp from my right margin he was sucking in the grass.
2.5hrs in and I I got 23lb of carp but it was obvious the carp didn't want to go into deeper water. This is a problem as shallow water is hard to find in peg 29.
Some carp started sucking in the grass across, feeding on my over sprayed pellets.
I got off my box and setup a small dibber rig and pusher it into the holes in the grass, to my surprise I started to catch well. The fish were a smaller stamp but it was the most consistent part of my swim. Occasionally a bigger fish could be mugged as they would feed really high in the water.
I switched between this and my left hand short line for the rest of the match and I put 120lb 15oz on the scales.
6th overall and only a few better fish off the frame, not bad from peg 29😊
