Acorn winter league Rd2 2021

Second round of the Acorn winter league I was on C section pegs 27-40.After only managing 4th on the 1st round, I needed a win to keep me in the mix. I was very happy when I was drawn peg 31, one of the better pegs in my section.

After 50mins of dobbing all along my far edge, I had exactly no fish. So I decided to get the light rig out, strung out shotting, size20 silver fish hook, fished dead depth single maggot on the hook. Tapped in some maggots, looking to perhaps catch some of the stockies and get some weight in the bag.

Float buried 10lb Carp came in like a carrier bag, no fight it was very lightly hooked on the outside of the mouth......🤦🤯😊.

I caught on this rig on and off throughout the rest of the match (did change hook to an 18 Kaizen, as the silver hook wasn't up to the task). I switched between maggot and bread and this line produced 80% of my fish.

I weighed 46lb 12oz for a comfortable section win😊😊😊👍. Acorn fished well with quite a few good weights around the lake.
