Another double header weekend

Out for Sat and Sun again this weekend, started at Acorn fof the 4th Rd of the spring league. This round is a random draw and I drew my nemesis peg9🤦🤦. Great peg!! However I have always struggled from it☹.

After 50mins hooked my first proper fish shallow on maggot down the middle.

I had flogged my shallow pellet lines for no real result, but some carp were on my back up shallow maggot line😊. Had a couple but it was really hard. Fish present but too cute for me😭😭

Down the margin early, bunch of maggots over Edge mix and maggots, had a run of nice carp before it died. Top up and back down the middle.

Fish were fizzing on the maggot line, so full depth rig was employed, a couple of carp and a few silvers were my reward. Finished in the margin again with another flurry of fish on the maggot. I just edged out Chris Fox for 2nd in section, with 85lb 11oz, Gareth Boycott winning our section from peg 11 with 99lb 2oz.

Sunday and I was at Landsend Fishery with the Mendip Nomads club. I haven't fished Landsend for a while, we were on the specimen lake I was last peg in the bucket, peg 25, a corner peg😊.

Started swinging a pellet shallow had a couple but it wasn't happening really.

I decided to try closer to the edge and fished shallow long in the margin to my left, this produced a nice run of fish. That got tongues wagging but sadly it quickly died on me😭😭☹.

I persisted shallow down this edge and lost a number of foul hooked fish, was getting tough. I fed at 10m against the left margin, edge mix and meat. Also fed short line with meat. I had a run of nice little tench from the edge line. I finished the match on the short meat line managing 2 more carp pushing weight to 66lb exactly. Finished up 3rd just out the money😭😭☹🤣🤣😂. It was a tough day for most, nice to be out with the club again👍👍👍.
