Last Tuesday open before Christmas, a real good turn out saw over 25 fishing. With the temperature dropping and the extra numbers I knew it was gonna be a tough day. The draw did me no favours and I was on 25, this was going to be seriously tough😂😂🤣😊.
I started dobbing bread all across my far edge and even went to the pallet on my left. No bites or indications were forth coming🤯. I got the maggot rig out and went over with this, I finally hooked a couple of small carp and roach and things were moving.
I had a line down the track to my left, picked up a skimmer and a carp from there, back over to the far side, it was slow but I did foul hook one and got him out.
Dropping down the track got me another skimmer and a small Tench.
With an hour to go I started to sparingly ping maggots across I managed another couple of small carp and a skimmer from over there for a final weight of 21lb 13oz which actually beat about 16 or 17 anglers so goes to show how hard it fished.
Fishing was tough but had some great company with Paul Elms on he next peg.
