This Tuesday I was greeted to a lake with a thin lid on it. I wasn't sure what to do for the best, I don't have an ice breaker. Luckily it was very thin so I could break it with my carp polešš.
18 anglers were fishing a great turn out for this time of year. I drew peg 17, so decided a day focusing on silvers was in order, didn't fancy 17 for the main frame.
3 rigs and a nice simple day, fed a maggot line down the middle and a pellet line at the bottom of the far shelf.
The day started slowly odd small fish on the maggot line. Eventually I started to get some skimmers on the pellet line.
Steve and Kev either side of me were catching carp and it was clear that carp were in my area. However I stuck to the task and put 20 skimmers on the scales for 9lb14oz.
This was good enough for second silvers weight only 11oz behind Paul Faiers.
Shiplate next this Thursday...can't waitšš

Well done John.
Have you got a pic of the second weigh sheet?
You put the same one up
