Landsend Saturday Open

Decided to go to landswnd for a change this week. 30+ Anglers booked in just shows how well this venue is fishing at the moment😊.

I drew peg 55 which just happens to be the longest walk on the fishery☹😭😭.

Started short on hard 6mm pellet, had some roach, crucians small F1s, this soon died and it was clear that the carp were not present short.

I went out to 13m fishing behind a reed bed, I had been tipped off that this was a good area of my swim. Again on the 6mms but bites were hard to hit, I switched hook bait to expanders and started hooking roach.

I realised the 6mm hard pellets were wrong so switched to feeding micros and fishing expander. A slow run of small fish followed, I started to up the feed and had a nice run of 5 carp before the line started to slow down.

I tried slapping a rig in the open water to my right but no real signs.

I went back on the 13m line and picked off odd fish, I fed the margin to my right quite hard in the final 2hrs, i managed another 4 carp.

I weighed 34lb of carp and 11lb in the silver net so around 45lb all together.

I'm not sure where I came on my lake, well done to Ross Peck in the peg opposite for a winning 120lb weight. I did sneak the second prize for the silvers net which was a little bonus. Back there again next weekend for the float only league👍
