Today I found myself at Landsend fishery with the Mendip Nomads. 16 of us were booked onto Lake 3, I drew peg 58.
I started by feeding a ball of softened micros topkit and 3 to my left, this was intended as a silvers line for later.
I then began slapping a 6mm at 13metres and quickly hooked a 3lb carp. I stuck at the slapping for about hour or so managed a couple more carp.
I then dropped onto the micros with an expander on the hook, had a couple of crucians and a small carp.
The lake was fishing hard, I continued to swap between the micro line and slapping.
The last 75mins were spent on the micro line, I upped the feed and pushed the swim a bit harder. I finished with a nice run of carp and weighed 64lb 10oz for 3rd on the day.
