Last Rd float only League

Landsend fishery was the scene for the final round of Tony's float only league. I drew peg 32 a good peg in a section of good pegs.

I started short, feeding hard 6mms with expander on the hook, the peg seemed full of roach, I did pick up a few crucians as well. All the while I was pinging 6mms into open water.

I went out to 11m in full depth, expander over micros I had a run of crucians, skimmers, F1s and roach.

With others in my section catching carp I went over my open water line where I had been pinging 6mms. 20mins slapping produced just roach so I came off it and back on the expander line. Another run of silvers followed.

I tried slapping over the 6mms line again and this time i managed a 6lb carp, this kept me on it for a further 30mins but I couldn't get another☹

I decided to try against the edge tight in with a hard 6mm, 25mins here produced one more carp but it just wasn't happening.

I decided to finish the match by focusing on silvers, I was way too far behind on carp in my section.

I fed micros and fished expander until the end of the match, I did pick up 2 more carp over my silvers line.

I finished with 23lb 2oz silver and 24lb 10oz carp. 26lb won the silvers on the day perhaps I should have not bothered with the slapping and just got my head down on the silvers🤣🤣😂🤦

I have enjoyed this league despite me not performing well, thanks to Tony Rixon for organising it and I look forward to trying again next year😊👍
