One to forget at Sedges

I had been working hard all week to ensure I could get the Sunday off and fish this match. First match of the year with the Mendip Nomads fishing club.
We were at the Sedges fishery on Brick pool, I drew peg 18.
Ive only fished the lake once before that was in the middle of winter. I had everything but the kitchen sink setup, I had no idea what was going to work, this would prove to be my downfall.
Started by feeding some GB casters and a pinch of micros at 13m in about 8feet of water.
Then started fishing short with an expander over micros. 30mins later I haven't had an indication and Jame's on peg 20 has already put several carp in the net. I noticed he was catching quite shallow, so I had a look in my margin. Another 20mins without any signs, so went out onto the 13m line, after another 30mins one skimmer was all I had.
I decided to feed meat to try and catch shallow, I fed the meat over my 13m line.
I soon noticed fish shallow so I put the meat rig out, couldnt buy a bite.
I went back on the deck and kept feeding meat, hoping the fish might settle feeding shallow.
I did hook one more skimmer, before I decided to top up 13m line and then went for a walk.
Upon return I had another couple of skimmers, bit it was so slow. Did manage a carp on this deep line too.
Decided to give the pellet waggler a go fished at about 20metres, fed 6mms but after 30mins with no signs I went back on the 13m line.
Time was ticking away, tried my short lines and margin lines again.....nothing.
I even had a go at fishing meat on the waggler and a chuck on the method, but I didn't have any success.
Weighed 16lb, felt like I've tried too much today, it was a shallow fishing day and I got that wrong too.......definitely a must do better type of day☹☹☹
144lb won the day James from peg 20👍.
