Well what can I say, I found myself on peg 21 again today at this week's Acorn midweek open. I was in 2 minds at the draw, not sure if I was going to fish for silvers or carp. Peg 21 can be good for both carp and silvers so this didn't help make my mind upš, once I got to the peg and had a couple of carp role down the middle I knew I had to have a go at the carp.
Started down the middle feeding expander and fishing expander 6 inches deep, tapping the water next to my dibber, this produced 4 carp I the first hr for 25lb, a good stamp of fish.
I had also been pinging 6mms into the grass over and I managed to nick a couple of fish from over there as well. Fish were slurping in the grass allday trying to get at my loose fed pellets, it never really produced for me like it has done the past few weeks, but I did pick up odd fish when resting the middle shallow line.
However down the middle kept on producing in spells and I was building a nice weight.
With an hour to go I switched to my margins as the shallow line had slowed, I had a few fish from my right margin, this pushed me onto 173lb and second on the day.
Bob Smith has once again dominated with over 200lb he has been very consistent last few weeks and is the man to beat.
