This was my third attempt to fish one of this years series of silver matches at Plantation lakes. Finally I had managed to turn up although even that was in doubt until 30mins before I actually left this morningš¤¦šš¤£.
I drew permanent peg 24, in the corner furthest from the car park, this was nice as it would test out my electric trolleyš.
Nice to see a lovely new wooden platform at my peg and so fishing was going to be comfortable for the dayšš.
I hooked 2 skimmers on first 2 put ins and I thought a Plantation red letter day was on the cards.......WRONGš¤£š¤£š.
I was soon swapping between my lines but bites were at a premium, and when they came they were Roach.
I kept switching lines and topping them up but it was real tough.
I managed a little run of fish by kinder potting maggots in on my 13m line but again it was only Roach, they soon backed off.
I did setup a new line at 14.5m tapping in pellet and I finished with a run of 8 or 9 skimmers, but it was too little too late. I threw my catch back as I knew I wouldn't bother the frame. Strange day many struggled even Des Shipp!! so perhaps it wasn't all my fault???š¤£
