Yet again I found myself on peg22, I'm starting to get comfortable in this peg🤣😂. Having done well from this peg Saturday, I went to the peg brimming with confidence. I believe my confidence cost me a framing place.
The wind was strong and gusting, I did plumb up a line over but I was going to focus on fishing short.
I fed a line against the bridge 4.5foot deep GB and maggot, I fed micro pellet in 2.5foot of water in left margin.
I plumbed up a right margin swim which I planned to feed by hand with 6mm pellet.
I started by rotating around my 3 lines looking for bites and trying to work out how to catch. Early on I could only catch in my left margin swim.
It was clear that it was fishing hard and yet my confidence saw me big potting bait on both bridge and left margin line.
Apart from very occasional silver fish on my left margin line I wasn't catching. I know another topup should help......🤦🤦🤦.
I went across had a few but it was impossible to fish right and for every fish hooked properly 4 were foul hooked and lost☹.
I finally managed to hook a fish on the bridge swim, bar of soap Tench. Followed by a 10oz Tench which missed the keepnet🤦.
1hr to go I decided to big pot groundbait in my right margin swim. This actually produced an F1, so I spent last hr on this swim had a run of carp. Finished with total weight of 42lb, which was actually first out the money......really had fished hard!
Over feeding today has definitely cost me a few fish and as I was only 5lb out from the frame can't help but think I perhaps missed a chance to frame today😭😭😭.
No chance of catch Glenn the match winner with 125lb, welldone to him👍👍👍
