With the main Lake fully booked and mild weather, it was going to be a good match. I was drawn on peg 14, so a long walk for me and Sprocket(the dog).
I had planned to build my match around fishing meat at 16metres, but once my back started to give me problems, I felt that, I should setup the feeder and start on this. Peg 14 has an island chuck so this was ideal, I managed to hook 4 carp in my first 5 or 6 chucks, sadly only landed one🤯.
The feeder did produce well for me and I stayed on it for big chunks of the match. I occasionally dropped onto the long meat line, having a couple of carp but mostly skimmers. I did also have a look in the margins on corn, but one lost foul hooker was all I managed there.
After 4hrs I was easily leading the match but the last 2hrs were disappointing and this meant that I dropped to 3rd overall.
I weighed 77lb 4oz a nice days sport and an OK result, but I still feel like I should have landed a few more of the fish I hooked😊. Hope everyone has a lovely Bank Holiday weekend😊👍
