1st Round of Tony Rixons Float only league 2021

First match was at the Sedges, 40 anglers in 8 sections of 5. I drew peg 39, I only had pellets, meat and a bit of GB on the bait tray today, also I had decided to leave the pellet waggler setup at home, high winds were forecast.

Started at about 6metres fishing at about 11 o'clock position, on meat. After 30mins and no signs I went onto 6metres at 1 o'clock position, expander over pellet and GB, had a few skimmers over this.

All the time I was pinging 3 or 4 pieces of meat at 11 metres, in the hope of going on it later and catching deep shallow.

I kept swapping between my 2 6m lines and picking up skimmers and trying to catch carp, after 2hrs I tried my 11m line deep shallow and I had no signs.

So back at the 6m lines,

I was falling behind as either side of me had caught carp on the pellet wag, ( I was regretting not bringing it). So i decided to up the feed on the meat 6m line and also abandon the 11m line as it seemed dead, and wind was now making fishing it hard.

The increased feeding resulted in more skimmers, not the carp I was hoping for 🤣😂 I was now catching skimmers on 6mm meat! 1.5hrs to go I finally hooked a carp, on the 6m meat line. I decided to switch the GB line over to another meat line and I fished the rest of the match swapping between these two lines, I finished with 4 carp for 39lb and 33lb of silvers (which included a small barbel😊). I was third in section and I picked up for second silver weight.👍
