The 4th round of the league saw me leading by 1 point. I drew peg 21, a peg I have drawn once already this year. Its not the worst peg in the section but not the best either. Its been fishing hard so I set myself a target of 50lb and felt that 3rd in section would be an acceptable result from this peg.
Started over in 2 foot, tapping in 4mms had 10lb of carp in the first 1hr.
Went down the middle over GB and maggot a couple of bars of soap was all I could muster.
I went tight over into 12inches fishing expander over GB, only another small Tench.
Dropped down the far shelf fished 6mms had a decent Tench then nothing.
Came down into margin found 2foot and fished expander over 4mms, had a skimmer and Tench, tried maggot over same line and hooked a few more silvers and a small carp.
So I fed this line with maggot.(big pot)
Tried short line with 6mms indications but no fish.
As you can see I was working hard to find fish, but struggling, I spent the next couple of hours rotating around these lines, topping them up, and nicking odd fish from them, it was fishing hard.
In the last 90mins, I had a few fish on the short 6mm pellet line and in the margin over big potted maggots.
I weighed 59lb 10oz for 3rd in section, one more fish might have seen me win the section as it was close, 2nd 64lb 5oz and 1st was 65lb 3oz.
Not sure how this has affected my league position, will need to wait until next round to find out🤞.
