5th Round Acorn Spring League

This is the penultimate round of the league, I will not be fishing the next round due to work commitments. I will be having a standin for the final round. I was 2 points clear at the top of the league at the start of the day.

I was drawn peg 34, which is probably the best peg in the section, so I was happy.

I felt that fishing short was going to be massive, so I setup 3 short rigs 1 for down the bottom of the shelf, one for tight in and another for half way between.

I setup a rig against the bridge down the middle, I also setup a rig across, found about 18inches tight over.

I started with a ball of GB against the bridge down the middle, then straight over, groundbait through a kinder pot and expander. This produced nothing but line bites, tried feeding pellet still nothing.

So I went down the middle and had a couple of bars of soap.

Long story short after 4hrs I had 6lb of carp and 4 small Tench☹☹☹

Came short for last two hours and started to catch on the pellet, a nice steady finish catching carp to 10lb, saw me weigh 84lb 15oz for 3rd in section and 4th overall. I would have been happier with a 2nd or 3rd in section, but the anglers on 33 and 40 fished well and I couldn't catch them at the end. So I think I'm still leading?? But with one result to drop, it could all change. I will have to wait and see if I have held onto the top spot after the final match in a fortnight🤞🤞.
