Out of it at the draw

Back at Acorn today, I actually waited until peg 22 had been drawn before I stepped forward for my peg today😂😂.

Peg15 was my reward, but with Des Shipp drawing peg 5 and good anglers on the island pegs, plus 9, 11 also filled with good anglers the writing was on the wall☹☹.

Wind was forecast and so I've made a decision not to go long on the pole, I got the feeder out instead.

I fed 2 lines down the middle, one maggot &GB, the other micros. I then started over on the tip, after an hour I had 2 carp, one skimmer and a bar of soap Tench.

Went down the middle tried over both lines, I picked up skimmers and more bars of soap. These lines were too slow and nothing of any size. So topped up and back over on the tip!

Nothing much on the tip back down the middle, more skimmers and a roach. I was miles behind with only 5lb of carp and probably 5lb of silvers, with 2hrs to go.

Time to try my 6mm pellet lines I had plumbed one either side top and 2 down the slope. I started catching from the right swim, I had a golden 30mins in which I hooked 7 carp in 7 puts. I kept priming the left swim but it wasn't as good.

Both lines slowed so I went down to peg 14 platform GB against the bank had 3 small carp and a good Tench to finish the match.

I weighed 63lb which beat all those around me but was way off Des Shipps 180lb🤯🤯🤯.

Looking forward to round 4 of the league Saturday😊👍
