Poppy charity match at Acorn fishery today 30 fishing this fund raiser. I was drawn peg 12, which was one of the pegs I fancied, it has a long margin which gives the fish somewhere back off to, I thought this might be important given the number fishing. When I got to my peg there was quite a lots of fizzing and bubbly in front of my platform. I setup carefully and put just one keepnet in to the left of my swim so as to not disturb the fizzing area. I started with 10mm punched bread over the fizzing, just a topkit in hand, had a 4lb carp after about 90 seconds.

This was the only fish I managed from the spot but I did stick at it for 30 mins or so. People were catching over long but I wanted to leave this area as long as possible. I went down the middle on maggot had a couple of small carp but it soon died. I went 10 metres down my margin in 3foot of water, tiny bit of GB fished maggot over it, foul hooked a few fish in a row, lost them all. So time to go over, using the same rig at 13m, small blob of GB maggot over the top 2 more foul hookers both lost. I realised the fish were up higher in the water, the wind had got up and made fishing over hard work. I went back down my margin 10metres to my right with a shallower bread rig for dobbing, foul hooked another fish. Eventually I found that the fish were about 12inches deep. I started to catch a few fish on the dobbing rig and I spent the rest of the match chasing them down my margin to 13m, I had a good last hour and finished with 50lb-12oz. This was 5th overall and was enough for me to get a default section envelope😊👍
