Back at Acorn for the good Friday open, I was drawn peg 3, I was happy with that as it can be a good draw.
Started over in 20inches of water, had a 3lb carp reasonably quickly, next few puts gave me loads of indications but no bites.
I tried different hookbaits and feed baits, nothing seemed to help the fish seemed to be unwilling to feed in this depth.
I found 12inches of water tight across, this produced 4 carp in 4 puts and all was looking rosy. Unfortunately wind stopped play and it became impossible to hold a pole across☹.
I was forced to switch to a method feeder over the same spot, 2 F1s, a small carp and a goldfish was all I could manage the method wasn't the way.
I dropped onto my short line (which I had fed wi
th expanders, several times throughout the day. I had an 8lb carp and a 2lb Tench😊.
I was falling further behind, looked in the margins and managed 4 more carp before the all out.
I weighed 35lb, which put me about in the middle of the field. Match was won from peg 5 next to me with 89lb.
